LiDAR Surveys

High-Density Point Cloud-Based Precise Terrain Modeling

Koni Engineering performs LiDAR surveys to generate high-accuracy data in areas with complex topography and dense vegetation. LiDAR (Light Detection and Ranging) technology collects millions of data points through laser scanning, enabling the terrain surface to be modeled in three dimensions. This technology allows the production of detailed digital terrain models even in areas where conventional surveying and photogrammetry methods are limited. It provides high precision especially in forested areas, power transmission lines, corridor projects and large-scale infrastructure works.

Surveying and Data Acquisition Process

We begin LiDAR studies by analyzing project requirements. Using aerial platforms (UAV or aircraft) or terrestrial laser scanning systems, we collect high-density point cloud data of the area. Positioning and orientation accuracy are ensured through GNSS and IMU systems. The collected raw data is processed in the office and classified. Vegetation, structures and ground points are separated, allowing the creation of a digital terrain model (DTM) that represents the true ground surface. Depending on project needs, digital surface models (DSM), cross-sections, slope analyses and volume calculations are generated. All outputs are integrated into the project in accordance with the national coordinate system.

Areas of Application

LiDAR surveys are effectively used in road and railway route projects, power transmission line planning, mining sites, flood modeling studies and large-scale urban analyses. Thanks to their ability to detect terrain beneath dense vegetation, they provide high reliability in engineering projects. Additionally, rapid scanning of large areas enables time savings and accelerates the project planning process.

LiDAR Surveys

Koni Engineering combines LiDAR technology with engineering expertise to produce high-precision spatial data. All stages, including data acquisition, classification, analysis and modeling, are carried out in a controlled and systematic manner. The generated 3D data meets the accuracy levels required for direct use in projects, providing a strong and reliable technical foundation for planning and analysis processes.
